SkinMax is the aesthetics practice of Antoaneta Mueller, MD, FACOG: gynecologic surgeon by training, practicing since 2007, running skin treatments the way an engineer would want them run: published prices, published machines, published rules.
The physician
Antoaneta Mueller, MD, FACOG
Dr. Mueller has operated on and cared for patients in the South Bay since 2007, including eight years running a 24-hour emergent care center where she wrote the protocols and trained the physicians. Procedural medicine is her career: steady hands, written protocols, and honest consent conversations. SkinMax applies that discipline to skin.
Her other two practices share this office: Beyond Women’s Health, insurance-based gynecology, and Beyond My Menopause, a menopause membership practice. Three doors, one physician, one standard.

The rules we run on
Written down, so you can hold us to them.
Most of these are California law. The rest are choices. Either way, publishing them is the point.
- Exact prices, always
- Every treatment has one published, itemized price. California law (B&P §651) bans misleading price advertising; we go further and ban ranges entirely.
- The physician is named
- All care here is provided under Antoaneta Mueller, MD, FACOG. Her name is on this site, in our advertising, and on your consent forms, because B&P §2272 requires it and because you should know.
- The exam is real
- No energy device touches your skin before a synchronous, in-person exam (B&P §2052, 16 CCR §1474), once per patient per year, folded into your first visit at no separate charge.
- Prescriptions are telehealth-legal
- Prescribing by video is permitted in California (B&P §2242(a)) and we use it fully: the prescription side of SkinMax never requires a drive to Torrance.
- Photos are for people
- Your photos are reviewed by the people planning your care. No face-geometry template is ever computed or stored, no severity score is generated, and the training-data authorization is optional and revocable.
- Zero third-party tags
- No analytics, no pixels, no embedded schedulers on any page that touches a skin concern. What you tell us stays on the practice’s systems.
What we do not do
Out of scope, on purpose.
Naming it here beats discovering it at a visit.
- · Medical dermatology: changing moles, suspicious growths and skin cancer concerns need a dermatologist, and we say so on the phone the moment we see one in your photos.
- · Injectables, fillers and toxins: not in the pilot. If that changes, the price list changes first.
- · Anyone under 18, and anyone outside California.
